Air Transport Maldives was founded in 2025. The platform is specialized in reporting broader aviation and related matters in the Maldives through news, analysis and research.
As the Maldivian aviation industry continues to play a crucial role of the island state’s socioeconomic development, it holds tremendous potentials for further growth. Air Transport Maldives aims to advocate and assist in addressing the current and future challenges the broader Maldivian aviation industry is and will be experiencing while acting as a voice to educate the general public, government authorities and young aviation enthusiasts.
Air Transport Maldives seeks to work closely with the Maldivian aviation regulator, service providers, education institutes and aviation industry experts for its defined objectives, ultimately paving possibilities for a better and a stronger aviation industry for the Maldives and its people.
Our Story
As aviation enthusiasts, we dream to see the Maldives as a world class aviation market and use its sweet geographic location to further enhance air service connectivity with the rest of the world.
However, as crucial as the Maldivian aviation industry is to its socioeconomic development, one can identify number of significant gaps that needs to be addressed for the betterment of the overall aviation industry and its future. With its gold achievements in certain technical areas from the safety and security aspects, Maldives also requires an urgent addressing on the current gaps in the aviation regulatory framework (legislation), accident investigation and air navigation services.
Furthermore, lack of key national aviation and related policies on areas such as passenger and cargo facilitation, infrastructure development and management, supply chain management and more importantly addressing sustainable manners of human capacity development and trainings for the current and future demand particularly in the commercial side of the industry.
Air Transport Maldives aim to play a critical role in assisting to address these significant challenges the Maldivian aviation industry is experiencing through inclusive collaborations and cooperations with all stakeholders.
